What Is Age UK?
Age UK is a major registered charity in the United Kingdom dedicated to improving later life for older people. It was formed in 2009 by merging Age Concern England and Help the Aged and now acts as a leading voice and support organisation for ageing people across the UK.
It is part of a wider network that includes Age Scotland, Age Cymru, and Age NI, each working in their nations while collaborating on shared goals

Across the UK, around 120 local Age UK partners deliver community-based services, including:
Befriending and social activities to reduce loneliness and isolation.
Exercise classes, cafes, and day centres for physical and social engagement.
Foot care, handyperson support, and shopping help to support daily living.
IT training and digital inclusion services to help older people stay connected online.

The Age UK Advice Line — free phone advice open every day of the year.
The Silver Line — a 24-hour confidential friendship and support helpline focused on combating loneliness and connecting older people with conversation, information, and referrals.

Age UK operates hundreds of charity shops nationwide, which raise vital funds to support its services.
